I’ve been rather quiet for the past couple weeks, I know, but I have a good excuse. I was busy putting together my first art show in Munich.
Luckily all that work (and blog neglect) paid off, and the event went bafflingly well. Many new people saw my work, and a lot of them even liked it enough to take paintings home with them. Despite my social awkwardness, it seems I managed to survive four hours of being the center of attention without thoroughly embarrassing myself or running away to hide in a closet. In fact, I think I even caught myself having a good time.
The most popular paintings of the afternoon were the Munich ones (several of which are illustrating this post) and the Oktoberfest ones (women in dirndls, mostly). Daily paintings of fruits and veggies went pretty quickly, too.
There will be more events featuring my artwork coming up later this year. If you’re in Munich and you’d like to receive invitations to these, please sign up for my art mailing list.
Even those of you not in Munich can see more of my art around the interwebs: at my art website, on Facebook, and in my online shop. Oh yeah, and I have an art blog called Flogging the Muse.*

Gosh, I never knew! They’re just lovely! I’m so impressed!
Thanks, Emily!
I guess I usually do a good job of keeping my art blog separate from my expat blog.
These are great! Thank you so much for sharing them. The Christmas Market reminds me a bit of my favorites – die Blaue Reiter.
I’m quite honored to have evoked a bit of Blaue Reiter. I love me some German Expressionism.
Ok – love it when you show of your work and it’s wonderful!!! Really impressive stuff. My favs are the Christmas market and Weinerplatz.
Thanks, Expatraveler! I always love hearing which paintings people are drawn to.
I love the use of colors. In a way (and hopefully a non-offensive one) they are almost Kandinsky-esque.

Thanks, Sara! Not offensive at all. 🙂
Beautiful art work! One to bookmark!!
