Sometimes when I get overwhelmed with the current political reality, I like to fall back into this alternate version:
I love you, President Gore.
(Unfortunately the video seem to only work for those whose IP address is based in the US.)

west wing is also good, if you dont get the american news channels you can just watch that and pretend that jed bartlet really is the president (imagine, a real economist as president).
or watch the last season and see how the young minority democratic candidate with the older establishment running mate kicks ass against the old, moderate republican with the scary conservative running mate (so close to real life it seems like it is)
Me too. I wonder how things would be different. I think even our lives as expats would be different. A bit less suspicion from the locals whenever we open our mouths?
Sara – did you see the new Martin Sheen/Paris Hilton video? That’s all I can think of when I think of the West Wing these days…
A Free Man – that’s something I wonder about, too. How would it be different? Would there be another reason to hate the US? Or would we just get lots of hugs? 🙂
Perhaps I’d even be able to fly the flag from the balcony occasionally as do the folks from Germany, Spain, France…etc…
Greg – now there’s an idea! I’m trying to imagine what it would feel like to want to fly my country’s flag with pride…
