A couple days ago we discovered three burnt-out cars in our neighborhood. Other passersby were taking pictures, too (usually in these situations, I’m the only one with a camera out). Perhaps they were set on fire as part of the May 1st demonstrations? I wasn’t here that day, and I can’t seem to find any news articles that would confirm this theory.
Even Munich’s airport has a beer garden. Nifty, eh?
The Swiss are at it again, selling better stuff abroad than they do at home, possibly as some sort of plot to take over the world via chocolaty goodness. Latest proof: Mövenpick Chocolate Picante ice cream, found in Munich (but never seen in Zurich).
There’s definitely a chili-schoco craze going on here in Munich. At which store did you find that ice cream? gimme-gimme
That would be Hit, inside the ghetto-fabulous Motorama.
That’s chocolate chili ice cream!??! Darn, I wish they had that in Zurich. I’ll have a look around for it now!
Strasbourg’s a notorious place for car burnings – it’s a New Year’s tradition. We had over a couple of friends here, who dismissed it as blown out of proportion, and that neighbourhood auto-barbecues must happen everywhere. They seemed quite shocked when we told them that, by North American standards at least, it was rare bordering on unheard of.

Ohhh that sounds so yummy! I love anything with chili chocolate. This ice cream place by my university in Heidelberg would also sometimes have chili chocolate ice cream.
Will have to see if I can find this one once I’m back in Munich.
I just found your blog via Zandria’s bike contest, I’m from Munich and moving back there (well, for three months) in a few weeks.
twerner – that would be it! Thanks for the link.
