Time to break out the cotton candy – you’re at the carnival. Travel the world without leaving your couch (or cubicle)! Sure beats doing stuff.
Stacey describes her close encounters with reindeer in Northcape, the most northern point in Europe.
In London, Sarah presents Bride and maids at 365 Londoners, a year-round collaborative photography project. And my fellow Zurich expat Jill soaks up lakeside culture in the real Bellagio (the one in Italy, not Las Vegas) at Matt and Jill’s Zurich Adventures.
Hoping over to Asia now… Conan Stevens presents A Short Trip To Savannakhet which he describes as a “major town” in Laos, even though it may not seem so major to those used to western-hemisphere-size towns.
Grace posts about crazy new man-made palm-shaped islands in Dubai at Sandier Pastures. Arun seems to have forgotten that this is a carnival of cities rather than countries, but I’ll forgive him since his post about his recent Indian Excursion does contain some interesting travel impressions.
And moving on to North America… Jon Rochetti at The DC Traveler lets us know that we can spa where George Washington spa-ed. I have to admit that it looks much more enticing than sleeping where the first president slept.
Richard leaves his usual German Diary stomping ground of Cologne to talk about Smallwood, a tiny hamlet in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York.
At The San Diego Beat, Carole Lane discusses the battle between a small group of people who want to reclaim Casa Beach for human recreation and those who want to protect the habitat of La Jolla’s Harbor Seals.
The Seattle Traveler Mary Jo gives us a preview of the opening-day festivities for the New Narrows Bridge, connecting Tacoma, Washington, to Gig Harbor (wherever that may be – I’m guessing not all that far from Tacoma).
At Blogging New Orleans, MissMalaprop presents the running of the Rollergirls, a French Quarter event where women on rollerskates emulate the running of the bulls in Spain. Go, women’s movement! Or something.
At Ramblings, Mike gives us a little glimpse into his life in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Silicon Valley Blogger talks about almost buying property in greater Phoenix, Arizona (just one of my many former hometowns) at The Digerati Life. And Doc discusses water pipes in his hometown of Kansas City, which is surprisingly not located in Kansas.
That concludes this edition. Anyone else tired? You can submit your blog article to the next edition of carnival of cities using the carnival submission form. Next week you can find the carnival at Buenos Aires Argentina Guide.
Technorati tags: carnival of cities, blog carnival.
